# Privacy Policy
_Last updated: May 28, 2026_
This Privacy Policy describes how Boggs Site Inspector (the "Extension") handles
your information.
## Data we collect
**The Extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our
servers.** All page inspection, DOM analysis, color scanning, font detection,
SEO audits, keyword counting, image listing, breakpoint emulation, URL parsing,
cookie listing, and field/selector capture happens **locally in your browser**.
None of it leaves your machine.
The Extension uses Chrome's `storage` API to persist your custom Fields/GTM
selector definitions and a small ExtPay subscription cache. This data lives in
your browser profile only.
## Browsing activity
The Extension reads the active tab's URL and DOM only when you explicitly invoke
a tool (inspect element, scan colors, audit headings, etc.). It does not log
browsing history, does not track which sites you visit, and does not transmit
any page content to any server we control.
## Payments
Subscriptions are handled by **ExtensionPay** (extensionpay.com), which uses
**Stripe** to process payments. When you start a trial or subscribe, the
Extension opens a hosted payment page where you enter your card details
directly into Stripe. We never see, store, or process your card number.
ExtensionPay stores a minimal record of your subscription status (paid /
trial-started / inactive) keyed to an anonymous API key generated for your
install. This is the only data leaving your browser as a result of using the
Extension, and it exists solely to enforce the paywall.
For details on how ExtensionPay and Stripe handle your data, see their privacy
policies:

## Permissions
The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used solely for
the in-panel features described below:
- `<all_urls>` host permission and `activeTab` / `scripting` — inject inspection
scripts into the tab you are currently auditing.
- `cookies` — list cookies for the page you are inspecting (Tools tab).
- `debugger` — emulate device viewports for the Breakpoint Preview feature
(`Emulation.setDeviceMetricsOverride` only; no other debugger commands).
- `downloads` — save bulk image selections to your Downloads folder.
- `storage` — persist your custom Fields definitions and ExtPay subscription
cache locally.
- `tabs` / `sidePanel` — power the side panel UI and refresh on tab switches.
